After learning I you have learned the concepts, benefits and patterns of Passive voice then. In Lesson 2 this time you will learn to identify and then arrange Passive voice in scientific text according to social function, text structure and linguistic elements.

Passive voice is widely used in several types of English text such as:

explanation text and report text. What is meant by the explanation text itself is a text which contains processes or related matters with natural phenomena, social phenomena, science, politics, culture, and others etc.

On the other hand, report text is a type of text that has a function, namely to provide information or knowledge about an event or situation after the situation is investigated and through various considerations.

So, so that you understand more about passive voice in the text, pay attention some examples of texts that use the passive voice are marked with sentences


1. Passive Voice in Report Text

Bogor

Bogor is a city in northern Java Island, Indonesia. it is part of West Java Province. Together with Jakarta, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi, the City is included in the Jabodetabek metropolitan area.

Bogor has been known as the 'Rain City' of Indonesia and 'Buitenzorg City'. the The city stretches across 118.5 km2 areas. Bogor is World famous for its Bogor Botanical Garden, a Conservation site for several plants and animals.

The City was Born in June 3rd 1482, when the Padjadjaran Kingdom existed in West Java. You can see the city's Landmarks such as the Kujang Monument, the Stone Inscription Write, Cimahpar Integrated Conservation Offices, Telaga Cikeas, etc. Bogor City is surrounded by several Mounts like Mount Gede, and Mount Halimun Salak.


2. Passive Voice in Explanation Text
